Reuse means materials are used again in their existing form, without being broken down or heavily modified.
Materials we collect can often be reused in their existing form across other industries.
One of the best examples of reuse at EZA is heavy equipment recovery. Salvaged machines are sent to specialized facilities where they are either refurbished for continued operation or dismantled for parts. These components are then reused for maintenance, repairs, and spare inventory on other equipment — extending the life cycle of valuable industrial assets. (reword slightly)
Repurposing means modifying materials so they can serve a completely different function than originally intended.
Collected materials can also be repurposed into entirely new products and uses.
A key example is the used and scrap conveyor belts EZA Recycling recovers. Nearly every belt we encounter is redirected into repurposed applications worldwide. After minimal processing and inventory evaluation, belts are transformed into heavy-duty industrial products such as: (reword slightly)
Recycling means breaking materials down into raw commodities that can be used again in the manufacturing process.
When materials cannot be reused or repurposed in their current form, they are sent to recycling facilities where they are processed into raw materials for manufacturing.
A strong example is the scrap metal we recover during site cleanups. This metal is processed and sold to mills, where it is melted down and returned to the production cycle — becoming new products such as vehicles, rebar, and other industrial components.
Conveyor belts are among the most challenging materials to recycle, but under the right conditions they can still be processed. However, EZA’s priority is maximizing environmental value — which is why most belts we handle are repurposed or reused whenever possible. Belts sold by EZA are typically intended for repurposed applications rather than direct reuse, ensuring the most sustainable outcome
